    The task
    You are required to write a 2500 word essay critically analysingperformance management and performance appraisal. You should use examples from organisations such as the Royal Children’s Hospital, Westpac, Microsoft.
    Structure your essayaccording to the guidelines attached, seeking guidance from Anne Butcher, Academic Skills Advisor.
     
    What is required is:
     
    ·         Introduction – no more than two paragraphs.
    ·         Critical analysis (4 to 5 paragraphs) – demonstrate your understanding of performance management and performance appraisalthrough critical analysis of journal articles (at least 5) and the text book, Harvard Business Review, HR Magazine, HR Monthly, and material on theAustralian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) website https://www.ahri.com.au/assist/performance-management.
    Examples of performance management can be found on the internet, but no other internet materials should be used. At least 15 references must be used, following the Harvard referencing system.
    ·         Conclusion – the conclusion should not include any new concepts, ideas or references and is generally two to three paragraphs in length. Here you want to demonstrate to the reader, based on your critical analysis, your understanding of performance management and performance appraisal.
    ·         List of references (not a bibliography). Only include references cited in the assignment.
