    Submission details:
Due no later than: Friday, 08/04
Where: via the iLearn site for PHL173 under the “assessment” tab. Click the link and follow
    the instructions.
    Format: either Word or PDF
Warning: your first submission is your only submission. Do not upload any draft versions.
What is submitted will be marked. If the file is corrupted or illegible it will be marked as 0.
Be very careful to upload the correct version, “I uploaded the wrong one” is not an
    acceptable excuse.
Additional resources: You’ll find additional resources at the bottom of this page to help you
with your research. Being informed when you make your argument is very important. You
are free to do your own research as well.
    The topic: Genetic modification.
You must choose which conclusion you will be arguing for, and it must be related to the
topic of genetic modification. You can choose to argue for or against the use of GM (in
whichever form you choose, e.g. in farming, in medicine etc.) or some related claim.
For example “We should not genetically modify food for human consumption” or “It’s ok to
modify pigs to grow wings and fly, but not donkeys”. Make sure you choose something you
can actually argue for, however you can be creative.
The answer must contain two parts:
    1. Give a 500-750 word reflection answering the following questions:
 What do you believe/what is your opinion?
 What about the terms/definitions? Are they clear? What kind of problems or
    ambiguities could arise
 Why do you hold this opinion? What are your main reasons for thinking this way?
 Are these main claims easy to understand? Do they rely on common knowledge or
are they unusual and rely on implicit ideas or background?
 What supporting evidence would/could you give for these views?
 Do you think your reasons are good ones? Could you make your argument stronger?
    2. A standardisation which draws on your answers to part 1. You should include:
     Conclusion
 Premises, sup-premises (if necessary) and implicit premises (if necessary)
 Whether premises and sub-premises are linked or convergent/

whole thing, but the intro (section 1.1) and the section on risks (3.2 and 3.3) might be
    useful
