    Group Portfolio (Consists of Assessment 1-A and 1-B worth 50% overall)
    Students are required to work in work in groups not more than four (4) members to develop a group portfolio that consist of a group presentation and group
    report. Approval must be obtained from the tutor/lecturer in the event a student chooses to undertake the group portfolio individually. The requirements of the
    group presentation and report are given as follow.
    Assessment 1-A Group Research Presentation (15% Overall)
    Due: End of Week 4 (Sunday. 23:59 hours). Presentation slides are to be submitted by End of Week 4's Sunday 23:59 hours to myRMIT’s Blackboard system.
    Presentations will be held in class during Week 5 and 6. Presentation sessions will be allocated by the teaching assistant/lecturer.
    Requirements: Students are required to work in groups of no more than three (any other arrangements are subjected to lecturer/tutor’s approval) to prepare a
    presentation to investigate the supply chain of a real-life business organisation (operating in Australia). The presentation content should emphasis on the
    descriptive elements of the supply chain i.e. how does the company actually manage the flow of products and services. Possible areas of coverage (not limited
    to):

      Sourcing and purchasing processes/activities
      Manufacturing processes/activities
      Distribution processes/activities
      Retailing processes/activities
      Collaboration arrangements with suppliers, customers or 3PLs
    The presentation content should also identify the issues associated with the current management of the supply chain:
      Is this the most efficient way of managing the supply chains? Where are the weakest link in the supply chain?
      What are the existing challenges? Are there any business trends that will impact on the supply chain?
    Other relevant information: The presentation is strictly 10 minutes. Time will be strictly monitored. All group members to participate in the preparation of the
    presentation but not all members need to present. There will be a 5 mins question and answer session after every group presentation. Details of group and
    company must be submitted to the tutor for approval by the end of the tutorial in week 3. There should be no duplication of companies in the same tutorial
    class. Companies selected have to be operating in Australia but not necessarily to be Australian-owned e.g. Starbucks.
    Submission: PowerPoint file need to be uploaded to myRMIT’s Blackboard prior to the deadline. Ensure that your file is uploaded to the link named as
    “Assessment 1-A: Group Research Presentation” (See Figure 1).

    Assessment 1-B Group Research Report (35% Overall)
    Due: End of Week 8 (Sunday, 23:59 hours)
    Requirements: The same group (of no more than four students) for Assessment 1-A is required to prepare a research report (approximately 5000 words +/-
    10%, excluding references and appendixes) for the company presented in Assessment 1-A and propose recommendations to optimise the supply chain
    management and operations with particular focus on feasibility and implementation.
    Other relevant information: Reports are required to be submitted electronically to myRMIT’s Blackboard. A Turnitin originality report must be generated by the
    group for your final submission. Research reports will be assessed primarily on the comprehensiveness of the report as well as the efforts invested in compiling
    the report by the students and the lecturer. See submission instructions.
    Report Structure: All components in the given structure must be addressed in your report.
    1.  Executive Summary
      One-page summary of the study covering background, methodology, key findings, conclusions and key recommendations.
    2.  Introduction
      Provide the background of the investigation, objectives, assumptions and scope of the study. Provide reasons for the selection of the company.
    3.  Company’s Overview
      Describe the current business, financial, and marketing strategies in the context of the company’s mission and overall strategy.
    4.  Supply Chain Management Elements

      Provide an in-depth description of the supply chain elements in the company. The content for section should have been covered previously in
    your presentation assessment.
    5.  Analysis of Supply Chain Management
      Select one of the following framework to analyse the supply chain elements described in the previous section 4:
    o  SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities or Threats);
    o  PESTLE (Political, Economical, Societal, Technological, Legal and Environment);
    o  Porter 5 Forces
      Emphasis should be on the supply chain elements
    6.  Improvement & Recommendation
      Select one of following technique to provide an improvement plan:
    o  GAP Analysis;
    o  CBA (Cost Benefit Analysis)
      Propose improvements to the current supply chain systems.
      Include key points only in your report.
      Present recommendations (i.e., the various strategies) or action plans based on findings. Link these to theories learnt or researched.
    7.  Discussion and Conclusion
      Conclude the whole report by pointing out limitations of the analysis and directions for further improvement of the system.
      Highlighted the lessons learnt and any disparities in expectations.
    8.  References
      Include all the references used, if any, in the writing of the report.
      Include in-text references within your writing,
    9.  Appendices
      Include all the relevant information and details results of analyses, if appropriate, to facilitate decision making by the management.
      Include details of SWOT and GAP analysis here, if they have been used in your case analysis.
    Submission Procedures (Important):
    The submission for Assessment 1-B report involves a number of steps. Please follow the steps to ensure that you have uploaded the necessary documents to
    the right links.
    Step 1: The representative of the group need to submit their Words document file to myRMIT’s Blackboard Turnitin system using the link named “Assessment
    1-B Group Research Report Originality Check” as shown in Figure 2.

    Step 2: After the upload, the Turnitin application will generate an originality report that contains similarity index. Click on originality button located on the top left
    of the screen shown below in Figure 3.

    Step 3: Click on the printer icon located at the base of the screen (See Figure 4) to bring the printing functions. Select “Download PDF of current view for
    printing”. This will download the originality report to your computer.

    Step 4: Check your similarity index that is included in the PDF that you have downloaded from Step 3. Ensure that your report’s similarity index is less than 10%
    (percentage excludes coversheet and references).
    Step 5: Upload your originality report to the submission link named “Assessment 1-B Group Report Final Submission” (See Figure 5). By submitting your
    Turnitin originality report, your report hereby declare that you have carried out a plagiarism check.

    Assessment 2-A Individual Reflective Video Presentation (20% Overall)
    Due: End of Week 11 (Sunday, 23:59 hours)
    Release Date: End of Week 9 (Sunday, 23:59 hours)
    Requirements: Students are required to prepare a reflective presentation strictly not more than 5 minutes based on a case or academic article. The
    presentation should not be a narrative or descriptive in nature but rather emphasis on the practicality of the research or case presented. It should address the
    following key questions:
    1.  How does this article relate to the lessons learnt in this course?
    2.  Is there any value (or practicality) in the contents shown in this article? Or is there any lesson/s to be learnt from this article?
    Other Relevant Information: The presentation has to be submitted as a video file to myRMIT’s Blackboard.
      Students can use their webcam on their laptops/PCs or smartphones to record the video files. Your video should incorporate your verbal
    presentation. Slides are not required.
      Keep your video quality limited to 480px to reduce the file size. Keep your file size below 30 MB.
      The acceptable format for the file is MP4 only.
      Use online video converters (e.g. http://www.clipconverter.cc/) to change your video format to MP4.
    Assessment 2-B Individual Critique Essay (30% Overall)
    Due: End of Week 13 (Sunday, 23:59 hours)
    Release: End of Week 11(Sunday, 23: 59 hours)
    Requirements: Students are required to prepare a research essay (approximately 2000 words excluding reference list) based on article provided for
    Assessment 2-A. Note that the research essay requirements are different from the Assessment 2-A. Please ensure that you read the questions and instructions
    carefully.
    Grading & Contribution
    Note that Assessments 1-A and 1-B will be graded as a group effort. In special circumstances (due to contribution disputes and group issues), a group peer
    contribution evaluation form will be applied to determine individual contribution. Contact your tutor/lecturer at the earliest time possible if there are any issues
    with group members’ contribution.
    Penalty for Late Submission
    Assignments that are submitted later than the due time and date of submission will be automatically penalised 10% of the possible mark, per day. Assignments
    will not be accepted more than seven days late (weekend days included).
